Recently, I have been photographing local artistes such as Paul Harper, and
The Palm Court Dance Orchestra, to be used in their portfolios, and also to
accompany articles I am writing for various magazines.
In May 2006 I staged a photography exibition in Castleford, celebrating 30 years of my colour photography,
including marvellous pictures of Yorkshire Scenery, photos of popular entertainment from the 1920s & 30s;
and 'Still Life' creations that gave me the name 'The Powder Paint Man`.
A special preview evening was held on Friday 28th April, which included performances from
The Palm Court Dance Orchestra.
Exhibition in Castleford Library
The dispay is called 'Pop' music of the 1930s - The Dance Bands and their Vocalists`, and comprises a collection of memorobilia I have
stumbled across during my research. Plus contibutions from Lancaster University & Ray Pallett, the editor of Memory Lane magazine.
I am a freelance photographer and writer, supplying material to calendar and postcard publishers and journals including `Yorkshire Life`,
`Country Walking`, `Photography Monthly`, `Practical Photography`, and `Pentax User`.
I also contribute regular articles to `Best of British` magazine, and up and coming work to be featured in `My Weekly` ladies magazine.
I am currently doing research into the history of popular music and other light entertainment from the turn of the 20th century up to the 1960s.

During the month of July 2006, I have a small exhibition of photographs in Castleford library relating to the 1930s Dance Band era.
